Since the 2011 Arab uprisings Israel and Turkey—two close US allies—have developed competing visions of the Middle East, which clash in relation to the Palestinian issue, post-Assad Syria, relations with Iran and ties with Cyprus and Greece. The eruption of the 7 October 2023 war precipitated a sharp deterioration in the relations between the two states, as Turkish and Israeli interests towards the emerging new regional order increasingly diverge. A panel of four leading scholars will explore the complex Israeli-Turkish foreign policy dyad and its implications for the contemporary international relations of the Middle East.
